How to Use Google Gemini on iPhone Without an Official App

Google killed off Bard earlier this week and announced Gemini, the latest iteration of the search engine giant’s foray into AI chatbots. Along with this announcement came news of an official Android app, but iOS users like myself were left out in the cold. Fear not, my fellow tech-loving friends! There is still a way for you to use Google Gemini on an iPhone. Here’s how to do it.

How to Access Gemini on an iPhone:

There are two ways to access Gemini on your iOS device:

1. Through the Google App: If you have the latest Google app on your iPhone, you might see a “Gemini” tab at the top, nestled beside the familiar search bar. Simply tap it to dive into the AI playground.
2. Web App: Head over to gemini.google.com on your Safari browser. Sign in with your Google account and you’re good to go!

If you don’t see it in the Google App, it might not have rolled out to your phone just yet. It hit my iPhone just this morning. Also worth mentioning is that it was a server-side update, meaning I didn’t have to update the Google App itself to get Gemini to work.
